Advocacy Support Officer (80-100%)
The American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands (AmCham) is seeking an entry-level Advocacy Support Officer to provide essential operational and research support to advance our policy goals. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated early-career professional who is eager to learn about advocacy, public affairs, and international business. In this role, you will contribute to our advocacy work by conducting research on Dutch and EU policy developments, preparing advocacy materials, coordinating stakeholder engagement, and supporting events and programs.

About the Role
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Policy Tracking & Research
Monitor Dutch and EU policy and political developments relevant to AmCham’s priorities.
Support AmCham’s follow-up on EU regulations at the national level.
Prepare concise summaries, updates, and analyses of key policy developments.
2. Operational & Management Support
Assist in preparing meetings, roundtables, and Committee/Taskforce sessions.
Support the creation and finalization of publications (including design coordination and translations).
Provide on-site assistance during AmCham events (registration, setup, coordination).
3. Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement
Contribute to drafting position papers and collecting member input.
Help identify key stakeholders and capture insights from AmCham events.
Maintain accurate stakeholder databases, contact lists, and documentation to ensure efficient workflow and reporting.
4. Young Professionals Program Support
Assist in organizing activities and events for AmCham’s Young Professionals Program.
Your Profile
You are:
A proactive and reliable self-starter with a hands-on mindset
Politically aware and sensitive to different interests and perspectives
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work well under pressure
A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
You have:
Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
Understanding of policy processes, public affairs, or community engagement
Fluency in both Dutch and English (spoken and written)
Technological proficiency, including strong command of Microsoft Office
A driver’s license
Flexibility to occasionally work outside regular office hours during events
Experience:
Entry-level / starter position

Contract Terms
The position is available per January 2026, for a period of one year with the intention to extend. The role is vacant on a part-time (80% or 32 hours per week) or full-time basis (100% or 40 hours per week).
